Bing URL Submission: Submit via IndexNow in Seconds

Bing URL submission is fastest with IndexNow: host a key file on your site, then send your new or updated URLs to the IndexNow API, which passes them to Bing and the other participating engines. Generate a key, host it and submit below.

Step 1 — Your IndexNow key

…

Step 2 — Host the key

Create a plain-text file named your-key.txt at the root of your site (so it opens at https://yoursite.com/your-key.txt) containing only the key. Keep the same key for future submissions.

We check that your key file is live and matches before forwarding the list to api.indexnow.org, which shares it with Bing, Yandex, Seznam, Naver and other participating engines.

We verify that your key file is live and matches before forwarding your list to api.indexnow.org. Your key never leaves your browser except in that submission. Free, no signup. Updated Oct 24, 2026 by the AEOeye team.

Submit URL to Bing: IndexNow vs Webmaster Tools

Bing accepts URLs two ways. IndexNow is a single API call you can automate on every publish; Bing Webmaster Tools lets you paste URLs by hand after verifying your site. For anything you publish regularly, IndexNow is the better habit.

How does IndexNow work?

Three steps, as defined in the IndexNow documentation:

  1. Create a key — 8 to 128 hexadecimal characters. The tool above generates one.
  2. Host it at https://yoursite.com/<key>.txt, containing only the key, so engines can confirm you own the site.
  3. Submit URLs that were added, updated or deleted. One request can carry up to 10,000 URLs; this tool takes 100 at a time.

Submitting to one engine is enough. According to the IndexNow FAQ, every submission is shared with all participating engines — currently Bing, Yandex, Seznam.cz, Naver, Yep and Amazon. Google is not on that list.

Does submitting guarantee indexing?

No. An HTTP 200 only means the engine received your URLs; a 202 means they arrived and your key is still being verified. Each engine still decides whether to crawl and index each page.

What IndexNow buys you is speed of discovery. We submit every new aeoeye.com page through it, and every response we checked over the past three months was a 200: the list arrived. The crawl itself still happens on each engine's schedule.

Why bother with Bing at all?

Bing runs its own index, separate from Google's. IndexNow reaches it — and five other engines — for the cost of one key file and an API call per change.

Make sure the URLs you submit are worth indexing: each should return 200, be crawlable and point to itself as canonical. Check them first with the HTTP status checker, and keep your sitemap current as the long-term backup to IndexNow.

One page checked. What about the rest of your site?

The free SEO audit crawls your site and scores ~90 checks across 7 areas — with the evidence and the fix for each problem.

Free · no account · crawls up to 20 pages and runs Google PageSpeed Insights. Usually 60–90 seconds.

FAQ

How do I submit my website to Bing?

+

Either verify your site in Bing Webmaster Tools and submit a sitemap or URLs there, or use IndexNow to push new and updated URLs through an API call. Many sites use both.

Does IndexNow work for Google?

+

No. Google is not a participating IndexNow engine. For Google, keep an accurate sitemap and request indexing for important pages in Search Console.

How often can I submit URLs with IndexNow?

+

Submit when a URL is added, updated or deleted. Repeatedly submitting unchanged URLs can get your requests throttled with HTTP 429, so send each change once.

Where do I put the IndexNow key file?

+

At your site root, named after the key, for example https://yoursite.com/abc123.txt, containing only the key text. The file must stay online for future submissions.
