Profound vs Peec AI vs Otterly: Which Tier Do You Need?

The three tools split by what you must track, not by company size. Otterly.AI starts at $29 a month for 15 prompts, Peec AI at $95 for 50, and Profound lists no brand price at all. This guide is based on public documentation as of October 2026; we have not tested any of the three hands-on.

Which tier do you need?

Count the buyer questions you need to track, then check whether security rules force a quote. That decides the tier faster than team size does. Here is the shortcut we would use, based on the three vendors' own pricing pages.

• 15 questions or fewer: Otterly.AI Lite, $29 a month.
• 16 to 100 questions: Peec AI Starter ($95, 50 prompts) or Pro ($245, 150), or Otterly.AI Standard ($189, 100).
• 100 to 400 questions: Otterly.AI Premium ($489, 400) or Peec AI Advanced ($495, 350).
• More than that, or SSO/SAML, SOC 2, dedicated support: a quote from Profound, or from the Enterprise tier of the other two.

The surprise is where Peec fits. Otterly's Lite cannot take extra prompts, so going from 15 to 16 questions jumps you $160 a month to Standard. Peec's $95 Starter fills that gap. That, not "mid-market", is the real reason to look at it.

A worked example: a software company tracks 40 buyer questions. On Peec Starter that is 40 prompts × 3 models × 30 days = 3,600 answers for $95, about 2.6 cents each. On Otterly Standard it is 40 × 4 × 30 = 4,800 answers for $189, about 3.9 cents, because you pay for 100 slots and use 40. Both counts assume one run per prompt per engine per day, which both vendors describe as daily tracking.

Also notice the ceiling. Around 400 prompts, all three converge on quotes: Otterly's Enterprise starts at 1,000 prompts, Peec's Enterprise is custom, and Profound never lists a number.

How do the three compare?

Otterly.AI is cheapest to start, Peec AI is cheapest per prompt at the 50-to-150 range and lets you choose models, and Profound is the only one with up to nine engines and SOC 2 listed. The table uses each vendor's own pricing page as of October 3, 2026.

Otterly.AI: who does it fit?

Otterly.AI fits a team that wants the lowest listed price, four engines out of the box and a quick start. Its pricing page bundles prompt research, a brand visibility index, link-citation analysis and a GEO audit into every plan, with API and MCP access from Standard.

Where it fits best:

• A first tracker for a small brand: Lite works if your question list is truly 15 or fewer.
• Perplexity-led buying: Perplexity is in the base four, while Peec sells it as an add-on.
• Claude coverage on a budget: Otterly sells Claude as an add-on from $29, which Peec's page reserves for Enterprise.

Peec AI: who does it fit?

Peec AI fits teams that need 50 to 350 prompts, want to choose their three models, and care about sources and brand perception. Its pricing page lists unlimited users and daily tracking on every brand plan, multi-country tracking and a Looker Studio integration on Advanced, and a feature list that includes source analytics and brand perception.

Two details that matter:

• Prompt choice is the whole game. Peec's prompt guide says informational questions often get answers with no brands named, while commercial ones "reliably surface brands". Spend your 50 slots on comparison and "best X for Y" questions.
• Capture is browser-based. Peec's documentation says it uses browser automation rather than APIs, because API responses often differ from what users see.

Peec's weak spot is engine breadth below Enterprise: the three-model limit is firm, and the fourth model costs $35, $85 or $165 a month depending on plan. Our Peec AI pricing guide works through the totals.

Profound: who does it fit?

Profound fits buyers whose requirements, not budget, set the shortlist: SOC 2, SSO/SAML, an API, exports, all-time history, up to nine engines and a support line. Its pricing page offers a free Trial and a custom Enterprise plan, so you learn the price only in a sales call.

Profound also sells credit-based AI Marketer and Agents, so some of what you pay for is content workflow, not tracking. If you want measurement only, ask for a quote scoped to tracking and compare it with the $489 and $495 self-serve ceilings above. A fair test of any quote: does it beat what two self-serve plans cost to cover your prompt list? If not, you are paying for controls you may not need.

How do you decide?

Start from your question list, not from a vendor. Decide your prompts, the engines your buyers use and who must approve the purchase, then pick the cheapest tier that covers all three. Revisit the choice after a quarter of data.

1. Write 15 to 50 buyer questions that do not name your brand.

4. Plan the fixes. Trackers measure; they do not change your pages. Research on generative engine optimization (GEO), the practice of improving visibility in AI-generated answers, found some content changes raised visibility by up to 40% in one academic test. Budget time for that work.

What we saw on each vendor's own site. In AEOeye's crawler access study (October 2026), none of the three blocked AI bots in robots.txt. Peec's and Profound's /llms.txt returned 404 and neither showed JSON-LD in served HTML, which can mean it is injected by JavaScript. Otterly's homepage returned 403 to our crawler. One fetch each, not a verdict on any product.
