E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trust)
AEOeye editorial team · AEO Glossary
Google's framework for judging content quality by first-hand experience, expertise, authority and trustworthiness.
E-E-A-T stands for Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trust — the qualities Google's guidelines use to assess whether content is reliable. It isn't a direct ranking factor but describes what Google's systems are built to reward, especially for topics that affect money or wellbeing.
E-E-A-T signals carry into AI search: models lean on the same trust cues — named authors, cited sources, real experience, a credible organization — when deciding which sources to ground an answer in. Building genuine expertise and showing it clearly helps you get both ranked and cited.
