Link Preview: See Your URL on 6 Platforms at Once
A link preview is the card — title, description, image — that appears when you share a URL. Enter any URL to see approximately how it will look on Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Slack, Discord and iMessage at once, and which tags each preview was built from.
We fetch the page once, read its Open Graph, X card and fallback tags, and render each platform's layout from the same data. Platforms change their designs, so treat the cards as close approximations. Free, no signup. Updated Oct 24, 2026 by the AEOeye team.
OG Preview: How Open Graph Tags Become a Card
Every platform starts from the same tags. The Open Graph title, description and image fill the card; if they're missing, platforms fall back to the page title, the meta description and whatever image they can find.

Open Graph Preview for Facebook, LinkedIn, X and Slack
The data is shared, the layouts aren't:
| Platform | Image shape | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Wide, about 1.91:1 | Small thumbnail below about 600×315 | |
| Wide, 1.91:1 | Minimum 1200×627 for the large layout | |
| X | Wide with summarylargeimage | Needs the twitter:card tag |
| Slack | Small image beside the text | Shows the site name above the title |
| Discord | Embed card | Image below the text |
| iMessage | Large image card | Title and domain under the image |
LinkedIn Preview: Why LinkedIn Shows a Different Image
LinkedIn uses og:image only when it meets its rules — at least 1200×627 at 1.91:1, under 5 MB. Smaller images get a small thumbnail or are skipped. LinkedIn also caches previews: run the URL through Post Inspector to refresh it.

URL Preview Before You Share It
Check before you post, because changing tags afterwards doesn't always update posts already shared. Look at three things: the title isn't a menu label, the image isn't a logo on a white square, and the description isn't a cookie notice.
Social Share Preview: The 60-Second Checklist
Five tags fix nearly every preview:
- og:title — written for the share, not stuffed with keywords.
- og:description — one clear sentence.
- og:image — 1200×630, PNG or JPEG, absolute URL.
- og:url — the canonical URL.
- twitter:card — summarylargeimage.
Most big sites have them: in our October 2026 analysis of 315 big-brand homepages (dataset), 86.7% set og:image and 74.3% chose the large X card. Create a card image with the OG image generator, and dig into individual tags with the Open Graph checker.

FAQ
How do I preview how a link will look when shared?
+
Enter the URL above. We read the page's Open Graph and X card tags and render approximate previews for Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Slack, Discord and iMessage side by side.
Why does my link show no image?
+
The og:image tag is missing, points to a file that fails to load, is too small for the platform's large layout, or uses SVG. Each platform also caches old previews.
How do I change the preview of a link I already shared?
+
Update the tags, then refresh the platform's cache with Meta's Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn's Post Inspector. On X, posting the link with a query string forces a new fetch.
