Best Goodie AI Alternatives (2026): Cheaper and Simpler Options Compared
By the AEOeye editorial team·Updated Oct 3, 2026
Part of our pillar guide: AI Visibility Tools

The short answer
The best Goodie AI alternative depends on the job. To learn whether AI recommends you, AEOeye's free audit or $29 one-time report is cheapest. For ongoing tracking, Otterly.AI starts at $29/month and Peec AI at $95/month. AthenaHQ is the closest monitor-and-act option below Goodie's $399/month. Prices were checked on each vendor's own pricing page in October 2026.
Most people leave Goodie's pricing page for one of three reasons: the $399 monthly entry price, engines gated behind higher tiers, or wanting an answer and being sold a program. This guide is based on public documentation as of October 2026; we have not tested any of these products hands-on. AEOeye is one of the options, so weigh our placement accordingly.
Our position: Goodie is not overpriced for what it bundles, but most people shopping on price do not need the bundle yet. Start with the cheapest option that tells you the truth about answer engine optimization (AEO), the practice of improving how often AI systems name you.
Why look for a Goodie AI alternative?
Goodie's entry point is sized for a running program, not a first look. Core displays $399 per month, covers five engines and has a 7-day free trial, according to Goodie's pricing page. Four things push people away.
- The price floor. The $399 is the annual-billing rate. Switching the page's toggle to "Billed Monthly" shows $478.80. Twelve months at $399 is $4,788, which matches the page's "2 Months Free" on $478.80. That is our arithmetic, not an invoice.
- Engine gating. Core tracks ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity, AI Mode and Copilot. Gemini appears from Pro ($999/month). Claude appears only in the Enterprise column, which requires a demo.
- Scope. Its homepage describes a closed loop of research, monitoring, action and measurement. Valuable if you will run it; wasted if you wanted a baseline.
- No free plan. Only the 7-day trial. The page states no refund terms, so ask before paying.
Which alternatives fit which need?
Use AEOeye for a one-off baseline, Otterly.AI or Peec AI for cheap ongoing tracking, and AthenaHQ for monitoring plus actions below Goodie's price. Prices are each vendor's lowest published paid plan, checked 3 October 2026.
- AEOeye: the one-off baseline. The free audit asks ChatGPT three unbranded buyer questions live, shows the answers in full, names the competitors it recommended instead, and adds a score and starter fixes. The $29 one-time report adds Claude, Gemini, Google AI and Perplexity, 10 questions and a fix roadmap. It is not a tracker. Run the free audit, or read our head-to-head with Goodie.
- Otterly.AI: the cheapest tracker. Lite is $29/month on monthly billing (15% off annually): 15 prompts, daily tracking, ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot. Claude ($29), Gemini ($9) and Google AI Mode ($9) are paid add-ons on Lite. Free trial offered, length not stated. Full ladder: Otterly.AI pricing guide.
- Peec AI: published mid-tier analytics. Starter is $95/month on monthly billing: 50 prompts, daily tracking, one project, unlimited users, and three models of your choice from ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI. Annual billing is 15% off; Claude is listed only under Enterprise. More: Peec AI pricing guide.
- AthenaHQ: the closest to Goodie for less. The Essential plan is free with $25 in credit (300 credits, five engines). Starter is $295/month, or $245/month billed annually: 3,600 credits, 11 models including Claude, and on-page and off-page actions.
- Profound is not cheaper. For brands, its pricing page lists a free 7-day trial (50 prompts daily, three engines) and custom Enterprise, with no public paid plan.

What does Goodie AI actually cost, for reference?
Goodie lists Core at $399/month, Pro at $999/month and Enterprise by demo only; agencies get Growth at $275/month. These are annual-billing rates. The page's monthly toggle shows $478.80 for Core and $1,198.80 for Pro, verified 3 October 2026 on Goodie's pricing page.
- Core, $399 (annual) or $478.80 (monthly): 5 engines, 1 brand, 120 prompts, 2 countries and languages, daily collection, 50 action credits, 5 seats, email-only support.
- Pro, $999 or $1,198.80: 8 engines (adds Gemini), 250 prompts, 5 countries and languages, 100 actions, unlimited seats.
- Enterprise, custom: up to 13 models per the plan card, 500+ prompts, SOC 2, API access.
- Agency Growth, $275 or $330 quarterly: 10 pitch workspaces a month; client workspaces from $399/month.

When is Goodie still the right choice?
Goodie is the right choice when AI search is a channel you will work every week and you want tracking, actions, attribution and a strategist in one contract. Then $399 is reasonable. If you only need to know where you stand, it is the wrong first purchase.
It fits when:
- You sell in several countries or languages (Core covers two, Pro five).
- You run a store and want the SKU-level commerce visibility Goodie lists on Pro.
- Your team cannot turn findings into fixes alone and wants actions plus strategist support.
- You need SOC 2 or API access (Enterprise).
Goodie's page argues that cheaper platforms mean fewer models, fewer prompts, capped usage and no expert guidance. That matters only if you would use those extras. Treat Goodie as something you graduate into once a baseline shows a gap worth paying to close.
How do you compare AI visibility tool prices fairly?
Compare cost per AI answer, not the headline price. Vendors count prompts, credits and engines differently, so a $29 plan and a $399 plan do not buy the same unit. Two vendors define the unit on their pages.
- Peec AI Starter: 50 prompts × 3 models × 30 days = 4,500 answers a month, as Peec's page shows. $95 ÷ 4,500 ≈ $0.021 per answer.
- AthenaHQ Starter: 3,600 credits, where one credit is one AI response. $295 ÷ 3,600 ≈ $0.082 per answer, or about $0.068 on annual billing.
- Goodie Core: the page does not say how a prompt is counted. If each of 120 prompts ran daily on all five engines, that would be 18,000 answers and about $0.022 each. That assumption is ours.
Under that assumption Goodie's unit price sits close to Peec's: the expensive part is the floor and the bundle, not the answer. Athena's higher unit price buys 11 models and an action layer.

How do you pick?
Pick by the decision in front of you: baseline, ongoing tracking or managed program. Spend the least that answers it, and move up only when the data shows a gap you will act on.
- You do not know whether AI names you. Run a free baseline first. In AEOeye's recommendation benchmark (127 audits, 892 answers, June to September 2026), brands were named in 17.6% of answers, and when a ranked mention occurred it was first 71.4% of the time (147 ranked mentions). The sample is small and self-selected, and per-engine rates are not comparable. Being named is the hard part.
- You know the gap and want to watch it. Try Otterly.AI Lite or Peec AI Starter on their trials, and price the engines your buyers use.
- You want actions bundled in, below Goodie's price. Start on AthenaHQ's free Essential plan, then price Starter.
- You need multi-market coverage, attribution and a strategist. Take Goodie's trial, and ask in writing how prompts are counted, what the refund terms are and what annual billing totals.

What did we see on these vendors' own sites?
In AEOeye's AI crawler access study (fetched 3 October 2026, 391 sites), none of these vendors' sites blocked AI bots in robots.txt. This is a fact box, not a verdict on any product.
- higoodie.com and athenahq.ai: publish llms.txt; Goodie's homepage has Organization and FAQPage JSON-LD, Athena's served HTML has none.
- peec.ai and tryprofound.com: no llms.txt (404); no JSON-LD in the served HTML.
- otterly.ai: no robots.txt; our crawler got a 403, so the homepage was not fetched.
No JSON-LD in served HTML can mean JavaScript injects it, which Google renders and many AI crawlers do not. One fetch per site, one day.

FAQ
Does Goodie AI have a free plan or free trial?+
There is no free plan, but Core carries a 7-day free trial according to Goodie's pricing page. The page we read states no refund terms, so confirm them before paying. For a no-signup baseline, AEOeye's free audit tests ChatGPT on three buyer questions, and the $29 one-time report adds four more engines.
Why does Goodie show $399 but also $478.80?+
The pricing page defaults to the annual-billing rate, $399 per month for Core. Its toggle labelled "Billed Monthly" shows $478.80. The page advertises two months free on annual billing, which matches ten paid months of $478.80, or $4,788 a year.
What is the cheapest Goodie AI alternative?+
For a one-off check, AEOeye's free audit; the $29 one-time report covers five engines. For continuous tracking, Otterly.AI Lite is $29/month for 15 prompts on four engines, billed monthly. Claude, Gemini and Google AI Mode cost extra there, so price the engines your buyers use.
Which Goodie alternatives cover Claude?+
AthenaHQ Starter lists Claude among 11 models. Otterly.AI sells Claude as an add-on, $29/month on Lite. AEOeye's $29 report tests Claude. Peec AI and Goodie list Claude only in their Enterprise columns, so it is not part of their entry plans.
Is Goodie AI worth $399 a month?+
Yes, if you will run it weekly: daily tracking, actions, attribution and strategist support in one plan. No, if you only need to learn whether ChatGPT or Perplexity names you. Get that baseline cheaply first, then decide whether the gap justifies a managed program.
